Letters
Letters, sealed for one phone.
Write to someone the way you would write an email, and send it through any app you like. Only their phone can open it.
1. Meet once
Two people connect in person, by scanning each other's code. The code shows the card fields each person switches on: name, company, position, phone, email, address and birthday. A card photo follows, sealed, in the first letter.
2. Seal and send
Write the letter: a subject, a message, and any photo, file or scan you attach. Each letter is sealed on your phone so that only the recipient's phone can open it. It leaves your phone as a file, through the app you choose, for example a messenger or email.
3. It opens on their phone
The other person taps the file, chooses Share and then noapps. It opens in the layer where they keep you.
Nobody in between
The app that carries the file does so under its own terms. It cannot open it. We run no server for Letters and never see a letter.
Where the keys are
The Letters keys stay on your phone. They travel only inside your sealed backup file, or in the iPhone backup when that setting is on. We hold no key, so we cannot open, restore or resend a letter. If the keys on a phone are lost, letters sealed for them cannot be opened any more.
Letters and layers
Every layer has its own Letters identity. A letter opens in the layer where that contact lives. Letters, Workout, Run and Cycle are not offered inside guarded layers yet. More about layers.
What it needs
Letters is free. On Android it needs Android 12 or newer.
